House and Senate Bills to End Organic Farms?

Posted on Mar 18th, 2009 by Julie Bird : Peer Elder Julie Bird
House and Senate bills to end all organic farms
(FAST track bills in 2 weeks)

Food Safety Modernization Act (HR 875):
Criminalization of Organic Farms

Bills are:
House H.R. 875  http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-875
Senate S 425 http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s111-425

There is an enormous rush to get this into law within the next 2 weeks before people realize what is happening.

Main backer and lobbyist is (guess who) Monsanto

This Bill will require organic farms to use specific fertilizers and poisonous insect sprays dictated by the newly formed agency to "make sure there is no danger to the public food supply".

If this passes then NO more heirloom clean seeds will be allowed, only Monsanto genetically altered seeds that are now causing unexpected diseases in humans.

Here is a short video on the subject:
http://www.voteronpaul.com/newsDetail.php?Food-Safety-Modernization-Act-HR-875-Criminalization-of-Organic-Farms-222

Lets get real folks! This has NOTHING to do with food safety.
This is only about TOTAL CONTROL by the feds in our lives.

So, get on that phone ASAP and burn up the wires. Get anyone else you can to do the same thing, by sending this message far and wide.

The House and Senate WILL pass this if they are not massively threatened with loss of their position..... they only fear your voice and your vote.

Together WE CAN OVERCOME!!!
When you email or call Representatives that each person is counted as the sentiment of 13,000 people.

If we can't save the world?

Posted on Mar 14th, 2009 by Julie Bird : Peer Elder Julie Bird
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 13, 2009:

Don't be silly.
It is in truth not the world that needs saving. It is man kind.
The world being a self sufficant being, is doing what it can to meet our needs and her own. I think of a mother with to many children wanting all the time. And some times as parents we have to put our children in time out. Another visual is a dog with an infestation of fleas. The dog will scratch and shake, an nibble and chew till there is relief.

The elders say: If not us, then who? And if not now then when. I strongly belive that as each of us learns to live in our joy we become more in tune with the world around us. And I feel that we collectivly create the world around us.  It will take all of us to keep a positive spin on things to keep the intention in higher vibrations. Very much like the 100th Monkey. Or magnets.. building a stronger field.

Coming from the field of education and permaculture I feel that we can live in balance  Coming from a the spirit path, I feel we need to do what it is we are called to do. Having trust and faith that others are doing the same thing. Knowing that one person makes a huge diffrence.
Being an opti*mystic I feel that sustinable cocreation in balance with the omniverse is not only possible, it is plausable. And in our life time. How fortunate for us to be here now.

So, Here I am on the count down.  Only a few more days before I fly out.
I am so very exited to be apart of the Aloha 'Aina Series presented by Living Mandala. I am experiancing a whole spectrum of emotions. The one that are the most expressive are Joy & Anticipation.

I am a little nervouse that the word hasn't yet reached a few key people whom have popped up on my radar. even experiancing this connected disconnect, I know that everyone who is ment to participate will be there. AQnd I am exited that a few kids will be on hand to lend their majik. I love kids!

And still I wonder... who is going to be there?

"Aloha ‘Aina" is Hawaiian for "love of the land", or "to love, respect, and nurture the land." As human beings now facing a time of great environmental and social transformation, we believe that it is through this spirit of reconnecting to ourselves, to our communities, and to the community with a spirit of love and care that we will renew and restore a healthy balance of human beings living in harmony with each other and their natural environment.

We are inspired and grateful to be offering this holistic permaculture design intensive at the Resonance Project and the greater Island Community to further empower and synergize our efforts of ecological and social regeneration.
Course Description

The Aloha ‘Aina Holistic Permaculture Design Intensive will include the standard 72-hour permaculture design curriculum based upon the original Mollison and Holmgren ideas and design philosophies published in The Permaculture Designer's Manual, as well as be a nourishing retreat for the participants, the land, and the greater Island community. In addition to the standard permaculture design certification curriculum, we recognize permaculture as an expanding, holistic design philosophy encompassing many fields.

Accordingly, this permaculture design course will include and integrate additional content and activities such as nature awareness, indigenous wisdom, holistic nutrition, embodiment practices, inner work, group process, unified field theory, and more. With a focus on tending the inner as well as the outer landscapes, course participants will work with each other and local community residents on tangible design project scenarios to implement positive transformation within themselves and in the local community.

Deepest Fear:

Posted on Dec 3rd, 2007 by Julie Bird : Peer Elder Julie Bird

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won't feel unsure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. As we let our own Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
